ABSTRACT:One Classroom, Many Learners: Applying Multiple Learning Theories in EFL ClassroomsIncorporating multiple learning theories into the English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classroom has the potential to enhance learning experiences by engaging students through various modes of communication. Designing activities that align with diverse learning theories not only caters to different learning styles but also provides valuable assessment opportunities that reflect student progress. In this session, we will focus on the practical application of multiple learning strategies and how they can serve as tools for both instruction and assessment in the K12 EFL classroom. We will examine practical methods for incorporating activities that bring language lessons to life while simultaneously gathering evidence of learning. Through hands-on examples, participants will explore how activities grounded in multiple learning theories can capture student engagement and performance. These activities will offer formative assessment opportunities by providing continuous feedback, while also contributing to summative assessment. By the end of the session, attendees will have a range of actionable ideas and strategies to implement multimodal teaching and assessment practices.BIODATA:Serpil Öz has been working as a language teacher since 2013, catering to students from diverse backgrounds, ages, and levels in various contexts.
