Reading is an indispensable component of lifelong learning. With the growing emphasis on learner-centered education, raising active and critical readers has become crucial. More importantly, strategies that foster critical reading promote active and critical thinking.
This workshop aims to present activities that can help learners to read critically. Participants will be provided with hands-on practice which can be adapted for students of different ages and levels.
Sabire Pınar Acar received her BA in English Language and Literature from Ege University and MA in English Language Education from Bahcesehir University. She holds the Cambridge Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. She is working as a teacher and teacher trainer in the School of Foreign Languages at Izmir University of Economics. Currently, she is pursuing a PhD in English Language Education at Dokuz Eylul University and her interest areas are teacher wellbeing and professional development.
