This workshop, "Exploring the Role of AI in ELT: Beyond Assessment," invites educators to use practical applications of AI that improve classroom instruction. Designed for teachers of A1 to B2-level secondary and high school students, this interactive session will showcase AI-driven tools such as chatbots, content generators, and personalized learning platforms. Participants will engage in hands-on activities to design AI-integrated lessons, fostering skill development and formative assessment strategies. The workshop will also address challenges in AI integration, providing strategies to navigate potential obstacles effectively. BIODATA:
Cristina Manea Gultekin is an accomplished English language educator, teacher trainer, and passionate lifelong learner. She holds a Bachelor's degree in English and French, along with a Master's degree in TESOL. As the coordinator of the Professional Development Unit (PDU) at the School of Foreign Languages, Gaziantep University, she oversees initiatives that focus on teacher growth and development. Cristina teaches General English courses, trains in-service teachers, and actively contributes to teacher development events as the Events Coordinator for IATEFL TTEdSIG. Alongside tutoring on CELT-S and CELT-P courses, Cristina frequently shares her expertise at national and international conferences. Her extensive experience spans the design and implementation of foreign language programs for learners ranging from K-12 to university levels across Europe and Turkiye. Deeply committed to advancing the psychological and social well-being of English teachers and learners, her research focuses on the processes and strategies that drive effective professional development in the field of language education.
