Storytelling to Promote Global Citizenship
TARGET AGE GROUP: 6-12 year olds
This session is aimed at providing participants with an understanding of the background of storytelling as a pedagogical approach and classroom methodology, while helping them further their knowledge and skills in using stories to promote values of global citizenship. The content of this session is both theoretical and practical, exploring how a story-based approach benefits the learners and demonstrating how storytelling can be used to teach the notion of global citizenship in EFL classrooms with practical tasks and ideas.
In this workshop, I will briefly focus on why storytelling is an effective classroom methodology for EFL classes and demonstrate some sample activities using different stories to show how storytelling can be used as a tool to promote global citizenship.
